My boys are hard on pants. I usually buy them at Sears, but they needed new jeans and our local Sears didn’t have any in their size.
So I went to Target, and bought 3 pairs “to hold them over”.
Did I mention my boys were hard on pants?
These pants are three weeks old. Unfortunately, I can’t find my Target receipt to take them back. I totally would – one pair busted through the knees after two days of indoor play.
Did you catch that? THREE WEEKS!
Sears has a program called KidVantage. It’s free, and guarantees that if the clothes wear out before they’re grown out, Sears will replace them, free. Also, I’ve never had Sears pants wear out before the check I paid with has cleared the bank. Ahem. Target.
From the Sears website:
The KidVantage® Club offers the Wear Out Warranty. When your baby grows up and your kids clothing or kids shoes wear out before they are out grown, Sears will replace them for free.
You can only exchange for the same size, and if you buy Levi’s you need to keep your receipt.
Whole-Knee Guarantee? Works for Me!
I posted this about 18 months ago on my old blog, but it’s still working for me. I seem to have mentioned it quite a few times lately so I thought I’d put up a post to direct people to. Last month, I traded in 3 pairs of shorts and two pairs of blue jeans the kids wore holes in and got brand new pairs!

Sounds good to me! Jeans never seem to get passed down in our family…
THANK YOU. My 5-year-old is very hard on pants knees! I have been buying used pants to save money and then making them into shorts after the knees are gone, but that gets tedious and the shorts season here is only a few months. I’ll be looking for a Sears sale before school starts!
Sears runs fabulous clearance sales. I buy shorts and jeans off the clearance rack for less than $10 a pair, shirts for less than $4 each. Watch for a weekend when they do an “additional % off” clearance items. I’ve gotten little girl embroidered jeans for $2!
