    The Healthy Indian Diet

I've been more and more interested in trying and making Indian food lately.  I make Mark Bittman's dal and even the neighbor kids like it.  But I don't know much about the cuisine and all of the recipes I've cooked actually come from old white guys (Bittman, and Andrew Weil.) Indian ...

    Christmas Gifts for Active Kids

It's time for toy shopping. I'm not a big fan of toys that do only one thing, make a lot of electronic noises, and limit the imagination.  I want toys that inspire the mind and encourage the kids to be active; open ended toys that can be played with by children ...

Supernanny and Craigslist

by Milehimama on October 21, 2009

in works for me wednesday

I have a part time gig helping cast the show Supernanny in Houston.  If you’re in the area (Houston or suburbs) and know someone who would like to be on the show or someone who needs Supernanny’s help, let me know right away!

How’d I find the job?  Craigslist.  It’s a good place to find temporary and permanent jobs, and there’s often something interesting posted.  Husband dear’s last job was found through Craigslist.  I got my job writing about reality tv there.  And now I’m a casting assistant for Supernanny.

*Just be very careful.  It is not standard procedure at ANY job to have clients send money orders, have you take a 5 or 10% commission, then send the rest of the money to the boss.  That’s called the Nigerian Scam.*

Our newspaper isn’t very good, and there are usually 2-3 times as many jobs posted on Craigslist.

Craigslist works for me!

I like Craigslist too. My husband likes to get on there and mess with all the scam artists…you know the ones…they say they’re selling a 65,000 car for 5,000 and will have it delivered to you. They say the car is in Nebraska but the photos all have palm trees in them. LOL Good Times :)

I love Craigslist, and it sounds like you found yourself a fun job there!

In from Works for Me…
Craigslist is great!! I actually have about seven hundred things I need to put for sale on there! (Ugh!)

I have found various strange jobs through craigslist as well- I have been on a jury research panel, collected DNA samples from prisoners, and got a gig wearing a Clifford costume at a PBS event.
Good going getting the Supernanny job!
