    The Healthy Indian Diet

I've been more and more interested in trying and making Indian food lately.  I make Mark Bittman's dal and even the neighbor kids like it.  But I don't know much about the cuisine and all of the recipes I've cooked actually come from old white guys (Bittman, and Andrew Weil.) Indian ...

It's time for toy shopping. I'm not a big fan of toys that do only one thing, make a lot of electronic noises, and limit the imagination.  I want toys that inspire the mind and encourage the kids to be active; open ended toys that can be played with by children ...

in works for me wednesday

I shared previously that we don’t watch Sesame Street, generally.  Now that we’ve canceled our cable service, we couldn’t watch it even if we wanted to.

But I still remember so many shorts from Sesame Street, and YouTube has them all!

Miss C’s current favorite, that she requests every day:

My favorite on was the Crayola factory.  I loved when it came on, it was wicked cool!  Ok, I was five.  Gimme a break.

Watching Sesame Street on YouTube works for me!  You can see all of your favorites without having to sit through Elmo.

I still sing this one to the kids when it rains!

The crayon short is my ALL TIME favorite, but the “toilet paper rap” is a close second. We have it on an Elmo’s World DVD.

I LOVE that one! I was tickled pink to discover “vinatge” sesame street clips on you tube and I watch them with my kiddos and just bathe in nostalgia.
