Disposable razors are made of stainless steel, and it’s not shaving that dulls the blade. It’s rust and buildup that causes little breaks and pits and makes it drag across your skin. Moisture is the enemy of your razor, so first, don’t store it in the shower or on the edge of the sink.
Then, after using your razor, simply push it across your forearm or an old pair of jeans, in the opposite direction of shaving. This will dry it, help remove any junk or product buildup, and keep your razor sharp!
It really works. I’ve been using the same disposable razor since Easter and it’s still sharp enough to do my legs.

What a GREAT tip! I always use mine WAY too long. I’m definitely trying this…don’t know why I never thought of it before.
Thanks, I needed this tip! God bless.
What a great tip! I use mine until it no longer cuts, so this is a great idea for me! I’d love if you’d link this to my Tuesday’s Tips!
I use mine for a while, too, but have never heard of this. I will give it a try!!
I do store mine in the shower, but I recently got a little suction cup holder thingy that holds it up; I’ve got it up high, so it’s out of the water spray, and it dries. It’s amazing how much longer the blades last! (And since I like the super expensive 5-blade razors, it’s nice to make them last!)
I use my disposable razor for months – probably 6 months on average. I do store it in the shower but it is up high on the far end and I make sure the blades are not resting on anything so they don’t get wet. Great tip.
Oh, cooL!
Have a great weekend!
