Our DVDs used to be a big mess. We had a lot, then we got more. Then Christmas came, and my mom sent the whole Benji set, and we got a free Bionicle movie with a purchase. It was out of control. I tried organizing them in baskets under the TV. I wanted them to be accessible to the kids, but out of the way. My littles thought DVD cases were better than blocks and they were all over the house all the time.
Drove me nuts.
Then I got this.
Here’s a bigger one.
Hallelujah! The angels sing. All our kid discs are in one place, a discreet book tucked away on our TV stand. If we have a babysitter, I don’t have to worry about giving her a list of what the kids can watch and which movies are for parents only – I just hand her the book (we let our kids watch some PG-13 fare, but not all PG-13 movies. It’s complicated.)
My husband had withdrawals from the cases, so I saved them for six months then dumped them. What do we need the box for? I didn’t touch his DVD cases, though. He might never speak to me again. Then again, they are on a shelf where the kids won’t get them so they are also out of the way.
For less than $20 I solved a major headache in our living room. Money well spent.

Not seeing any pictures/links..?
I added some links in case you can’t see the Amazon pics.
I am starting to desire this system. right now our entire coat closet is dediated to DVDs and videos. DH will now give up the cases. we have shelves from floor to ceiling as well as a shelf mounted on the inside of the door. I would rather use the space for coats and hats or a closet office but I have married the most stubborn man in the world. I have tried to convince him showing him pictures from BHG of closet offices and slightly nagged him everytime I pick up one of his dozens of hats off the floor. So now I dream.
T won’t give up the cases to his movies. I really DID have to save all the kid movie cases in a box for months and months, LOL. IMO, who cares about the DVD cases?
Thank you!
The cases aren’t a big deal if you aren’t planning on ever reselling your dvds/videos. However, if you do plan to resell them, the cases make them more valuable.
Yeah right. DH would never NEVER sell his movies. I do have to give him credit there though. He watches them all quite frequently.
I already did that with Wii discs. Oh my gosh, we only had a handful of games and I was already going crazy, with them constantly going in and out of the Wii player, getting scratched. The CD wallet saved my sanity.
