I’m still around, I promise. First my site got hacked over New Year’s weekend, and then we (I) got sick. It wasn’t the “real” flu but it was a wicked bad cold.
I still have some fixing to do with the comments and sidebars. I have some great stuff coming up for you soon, I promise.
Meanwhile, I thought I’d share some useful stuff from around the web this week, since I’ve been doing a lot of reading on the Kindle in bed.
I wanted to let you know that A Slob Comes Clean, one of my fave homemaking/organizing/real life blogs, is having an ebook sale! You can get both of her ebooks for under $4.
I’m not an affiliate but I do have a preview copy of the Drowning in Clutter book. It’s a good start for those of us with “slob brains” who just can’t ever seem to get traction against the overwhelming tide of STUFF.
My friend and fellow mega-mom Lisa Pennington is running a good series on Modesty for Women of All Ages. Part 1 here, or check out last year’s post on Clothing Tips for the Plus Sized Gal. I like her perspective because even though she dresses more conservatively than my family does (we aren’t dresses only) she is stylish, fun, and feminine. No denim frumpers! No dresses that look like burlap bags! Also, she’s a real mom with real kids and her clothes are practical and pretty.
Finally, Catholics, did you know the US Bishops have called us to fast and pray for life, marriage, and religious liberty? Yes, meatless Fridays have started and it’s not even Lent. Fr. Powell has a nice homily on fasting today – worth the read.
