    The Healthy Indian Diet

I've been more and more interested in trying and making Indian food lately.  I make Mark Bittman's dal and even the neighbor kids like it.  But I don't know much about the cuisine and all of the recipes I've cooked actually come from old white guys (Bittman, and Andrew Weil.) Indian ...

Food Stamp Challenge Week 24

by Milehimama on June 15, 2009

in Food Stamp Challenge,Uncategorized

Well, judging from our bank account, we spent $175 on food this week (June 8-June 14).  I have no idea what was bought (except the bags of Lays,  cans of Pepsi, and the junk food husband has been feeding me!).

This week, we’re going to have leftover pork loin and chicken at some point.  I’m guessing quick and fast spaghetti will make a showing.  Other than that – everyone else is doing the cooking and shopping!

That’s okay.  I’ll have plenty more chances to shop and cook, but I only get to have a week of firsts once.

Check back next week and maybe I’ll actually know what we’re going to eat!

No hotdogs, though!

Seriously, have fun with the firsts, and we’ll eat the hot dogs.
