Obama Song to Children

in Why We Homeschool

I’m sure you’ve all seen the Obama rap that public school children performed last spring.

No?  Here it is:

Appalling, no?  The principal doesn’t think so.  He sent a letter home to parents.  Unfortunately, I can’t link directly because the school site crashed.

Here are the lyrics.  Note:  the principal says this was for Black History Month – February, before Obama actually DID anything.

Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama

Song 2:
Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say “hooray!”

Hooray, Mr. President! You’re number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!

Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country’s economy number one again!

Hooray Mr. President, we’re really proud of you!
And we stand for all Americans under the great Red, White, and Blue!

So continue —- Mr. President we know you’ll do the trick
So here’s a hearty hip-hooray —-

Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!

Turns out the kids were promoting a book, I Am Barack Obama, written by Charisse Carney-Nunes.

I don’t have a problem with recognizing Presidents in the classroom.  And it is noteworthy to mention that President Obama is the first black president, since Obama self-identifies as black and not white or mixed race.  My problem are the fawning and psuedoreligious lyrics (He said red, yellow, black or white/
All are equal in his sight
) and the exhortation for Obama to continue his policies (which, at that point, hadn’t been implemented.)

Acknowledging historical figures, fine.  Commending and promoting their policies?  Not so much.

And I’m not sure exactly what Obama did that was so darn great.  He got elected President, but so did James K. Polk and Richard Nixon.  Winning an election does not make a great man.  It’s what he does with that power.

I’ll be filing this under “Why We Homeschool”.

That is just creepy. It’s almost hard to believe that this isn’t a send up.
The verse that says “red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight” is lifted almost verbatim from that old childrens hymn “Jesus loves the little children”.
Gag gag gag.
How can any thinking person be ok with that?

It’s interesting because I thought I read that this was recorded in June, 2008 not black history month which is February. I’ll need to check on that. Our school system did not show the President’s speech on the day it was originally broadcast because of overwhelming parental concern. They said they had never received so many phone calls on an issue. My middle schooler’s class did watch the speech the next week and we had to sign a permission slip to allow them to watch. By then I had watched it … she thought it was really long and boring. 12 years old what do you expect. The above along with the other vidoes that we saw during the election earn the adjective creepy IMHO.

I read that it was posted on Youtube in June, but I’m not sure when it was recorded.

I saw this on the Foxnews article aboutthe song … “Alteredbeat” told FOXNews.com that he reached out to Carney-Nunes, who insisted that the program had been filmed in June as part of a Father’s Day tribute to President Obama. “The kids made up the songs on their own,” she wrote, according to the YouTube user.

Don’t know if it’s true or not but strange that now they’re saying it was for Black History Month.

I don’t know …

The kids made up those lyrics, and set it to the music of Battle Hymn of the Republic?

um, okay. Yeah.

This is as sick as it gets. The teacher should be fired and or arrested!!!!! Everyone should email the school and protest her attempt to indoctrinate innocent children .I know by now obama ( the lack of caps was not a mistake ) himself has seen it and I bet our wanta be rockstar president loves it. He will no doubt go down as the worst president in American history. Sorry jimmy carter you have finally lost your title.People open your eyes we are losing or country and our rights to this far left media whore
