The kids were all clean at the same time. They were dressed in coordinating outfits for Easter. It was a bright day with a few clouds, so the light was good.
We had this same problem until my husband decided to stand behind me and make faces and give me bunny ears. The kids all thought it was great that Dad must be fooling Mom and started laughing and we got all 8 looking in the same direction and smiling. More than once.
I tell people all time…it’s like herding cattle…and I “only” have 4 kids!

My mom’s family really did photoshop their last family picture! Granted, there were extenuating circumstances…my youngest uncle (who’s in his 40s) got married last summer, so they got a picture of all the brothers and sisters (all 13)…except one brother was in the hospital and couldn’t make it. So they had a groomsman, who was about his build, stand in his place, and photoshopped in his head.
When they told me about it, I thought it was the lamest thing ever. But I saw the result this weekend. It was actually really good! If you didn’t know, you couldn’t tell.
My Mother always tells me, when dealing with my three, that it is like herding cats.
Love the pics and annotations too, gave me a chuckle. Thanks MilehiMama.

Hi there, I haven’t been over to that site in million years, LOL! You jogged my memory – haven’t been to the Catholics for Obama site since the election. Or maybe even before the election.
They have Sr. Joan Chittister’s petition up. Same ol’ same ol’.

Loved all of the photos! They are precious children, even when mad or wiggly or squirmy or bored with it all. Thanks for posting these pictures; I remember those days when it was hard to get even three to look good at the same time!
Tee hee!! I only have 2 children and trying to get them to stand still, keep their hands out of their faces and smile at the same time is virtually impossible! The harder I try, the more likely they are to get cranky or start crying. Individually, they’re pretty good at hamming it up, but together….forget it.

The success of love is in the loving
- it is not in the result of loving.
Of course it is natural in love to want the best for the other person,
but whether it turns out that way or not
does not determine the value
of what we have done.

House keeping Perspective
I agree with Equuschick:
But the point is, she has never even considered it as her job to "keep house." She is not a house-keeper. If her only job was to keep the house clean, she could be replaced by a maid who might not even speak her family's language. (But could probably do a better job.)
The older women in Titus were not commanded to teach the younger women how to get stains out of the carpet and the best way to dust wood furniture. The commandment was to teach young women to "love their husbands and keep the home."

So cute! I can totally relate! Don’t worry – it does get a little better as they get older (at least they stop picking their noses!):)

Your children are adorable even when they don’t want their picture taken!
