Baby A was born one year ago today.
At six months old she could climb to the top of the stairs.
At eight months, she could circumvent any stair blockade we could concoct. Chairs, pillows, and milkcrates were no match for her.
At nine months, she was walking. Now she trundles about the house, always so purposeful and so busy. She’s very laid back, but at the same time has an iron will. She goes with the flow unless she feels she needs to stand her ground and then there’s no moving her.
She loves her babies and her GlowWorm and hugs them to her chest as she plays. But she really adores technology. Anything with buttons and wires attracts her like a moth to candlelight. She already knows how to take a DVD out of the PS3 and put it in its case.
She loves her nursies. She nurses to sleep for her morning nap, then tucks her little head under her arm and sleeps sprawled out on my lap.
Her hair is so light and short, she looks bald except for a little puffball tuft at the back of her head. Yesterday, she weighed 19 pounds and is 27.5 inches tall. She’s so short, walking all over!
She’s my darling!

A year?! Where did the time go! Happy Birthday!
Ohmgawsh she’s so cute. =[ so far the only one of your brood i didn’t get to snuggle when they were properly a baby! I missed out!
I haven’t yet held your two littlest ones, nor any of your other children (all of whom I love dearly, and pray for everyday) for nearly 4 years, and the only thing holding me back is illness (and the costs incurred during the treatment thereof). I love them all so much, and every single picture (esp an adorable collage such as the one above) can bring tears to my eyes. Absence has made my heart grow fonder.
Question – the photo in which Baby A is playing with the young blonde woman – did you take your daughter to a fashion shoot??? Surely that young lady is model, or an actress maybe?
Love you and all of yours, and I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY with your post on big families. Growing up in our big family, I remember not only the insensitive comments (about which I never really cared), but even more so the anguish and justifiable anger our parents felt about those things, while always maintaining the most cordial attitude towards the offender. People attacking my family, and causing such grief for our parents was something much harder for me, during my childhood, than nearly anything else I experienced until after I had entered high school. I’m not a parent, and I cannot imagine what my thoughts would be if I were asked such a personal question, in such a rude way by a stranger; however, I come from a slightly different point of view: I remember that, as a child, I found it to be unnecessary, uncouth, and uncalled for that strangers on the street would be so thoughtless and nosy as to offend our parents for living a lifestyle centered around their children.
Oh my word she is so cute!! And she obviously knows how to text as well.
HOW has it already been a full year?
She’s right up there with Mr. X in the most adorable kid department and if CM takes Mr. X I will gladly and happily take baby A.
Oh my goodness I just want to SQUISH her!!! What a little cutie.
