Have you seen this article on employment discrimination in the health care bill? That’s right, it’s going to hurt single income, working poor, and large families.
For a large family perspective, my family will qualify for governmental subsidies until our total income is more than $178,000 (4x the Federal Poverty Level for a family of 10).

GMO soy prompts a lawsuit. One the one hand, when you are in prison you shouldn’t expect your meals to be particularly gourmet. On the other hand, we as a community should not poison our prisoners in the name of cheap eats. GMO soy is not the same as regular soy, and in any case soy shouldn’t be fed to people who are allergic to it.
And those of you talking about the free healthcare prisoners receive? It’s really, really bad healthcare, difficult to access, and not exactly free to the prisoners (the prison economy runs a bit differently). And you have no chance for a second opinion or anywhere to go if your treatment is substandard, save begging family members on the outside to write the warden and the local Senators.

Baby A is six months old. She had a rough day yesterday because she decided it was time for her to walk. So she started pulling up AND cruising. And falling. She can also climb up 2 stairs. She is SIX months old, heaven help me!

Our school table is a trestle table, and her favorite cruising area is the trestle part. So she circles around under the table while the children are supposed to be doing their schoolwork. Already she’s about to be sent to the principal’s office for causing disruptions! I can tell she’s going to run me ragged. Maybe she’ll be an Olympic athlete.

I can’t believe she is trying to walk. God lord! Yeah, Jack (Daniel’s boy) just turned one, and I think he’s mastered walking. How are things with you my dear?
None of my babies have ever cruised this early (walking while holding on.) But then again, she held her head up at 4 minutes old. Most of my babies walk independently around 11-14 months, cruise around 9-10 months. Baby A didn’t even roll, she went straight to crawling.
Wow. Yet another reason to never eat at McDonald’s (I cannot even have their french fries without reacting, so there wasn’t much reason anyway)!
Your little cutie is certainly an adventurous sort! Better keep an eye on her; at this rate she will be running the whole house before she is five!

Our family, being not rich, will qualify for both premiums (good for us) and extra employer taxes (bad for us). Most middle class folks apparently will.
#3: I heard about this too. It would be enough to get me to stop eating ground beef, except I already stopped a few months ago. *shudder* We had ground turkey stroganoff last night and it was good!
#4: GMOs are not the same genetically as natural organisms, but why do you think GM soy is poison? That’s a pretty strong word, and I don’t think any GMOs have been proven to be harmful to human health (some, such as golden rice, are decidedly beneficial).
GMO soy has many times the allergens that natural soy has; to someone that is allergic, it is a poison.
Federal Prisoners are on the receiving end of very good, easy to access health case. 2nd opinions and such are still a problem as you stated but the care is actually at a quite high standard in most cases.
Other prisoners likely receive substandard health care though.
Yes, the cases I know personally were state prisoners.
Wow that baby A is starting to walk! My youngest is quickly coming up on 11 months, and walking isn’t anywhere on her radar. She doesn’t even like to crawl with her belly off the floor: she’d rather scoot around on her tummy. Sounds like A is quite an adventurous child! I’ll bet the other kids adore her!
Yes, the other children were putting me into an early grave by teaching Baby A to climb the stairs today. ALL seven of them cheering her on and giving her little boosts. It’s a wonder I haven’t gone gray yet.
Ack! 7 kids assisting! I can’t even imagine. I had an early walker too, but his motor skills otherwise were so delayed other than noggin bumps there wasn’t too much to worry about.
MHM, have fun with that baby! Hehe! My youngest was cruising that early, and she was walking (on her own) at 9 mos. She climbed on EVERYTHING. Her favorite “game” involved climbing up the couch, onto the back of the couch, and then jumping off the back (our couch wasn’t against a wall – maybe it should have been!). She did this around the time she started walking. Luckily, she somehow made it through toddlerhood without needing a trip to the ER!
