I know it’s the traveling season, so I thought I’d pass along a helpful hint to make car trips a little more frugal and a little less messy.
When traveling with kids, they want snacks. And even though it’s more economical to buy a big bag of chips or a SuperSize fry and split it up, it can make a huge mess in the backseat.
So use a pocket.
Cone shaped coffee fileters make perfect, cheap disposable pockets for finger foods and store easily. You can even write names on them if you need to. I keep some in the van all the time.

That’s an awesome idea! I will be putting this into practice immediately
Thank you for sharing!
We do plastic sandwich baggies. The zip-top ones are a bit pricey, but we get the super-cheap fold-top bags. This is a good idea too, though, and probably easier for young toddlers to manage.
Oh, what a smart idea! I’ll have to try this one since we are guilty of eating/snacking in the car quite often. Thanks for sharing!
I shared some tried & true gift ideas for loved ones in nursing homes for my WFMW post.
I put stuff in coffee filters for on the go eating quite a bit- they work great and are dirt cheap!
I keep a stash of washed out yogurt cups in the car for dividing snacks.
