I really can’t give this product a thorough review. Mainly because I haven’t been able to get my hands on it.
Miss A adores it. She couldn’t even wait to get it out of the box. LeapFrog TouchMagic Rockin’ Guitar is a winner and we haven’t even opened the package!
Like the LeapFrog TouchMagic Learning Bus, the surface is flat with no buttons and it is very lightweight. There are no strings, instead you strum over the picture of strings and the TouchMagic technology registers your movements.
There are other buttons- one for a drumbeat, one to make weird and funny noises, and an applause button. Every rockstar needs to hear the accolades of their audience!
There are pre-programmed songs- the current favorite here is “Rockin’ Robin”, and there are other kid favorites like “Itsy Bitsy Spider” plus songs about sharing, friends, and other standard preschool fair.
Miss A makes me laugh, as soon as she picked up the guitar she assumed the Rock Star Stance and after her song is over, she says “Thank you, thank you very much.” Where does she pick this stuff up?
This toy is noisy but even though it’s electronic, it does seem to fire up the imagination. Our ottoman has become a stage several times over the last couple of weeks. My daughters love Taylor Swift, so now they use the guitar to play “Taylor”.
Another feature of LeapFrog products I happen to like is how easy they make it to remove their toys from the package. They are held in by plastic tabs, and all you have to do is twist and pull to release. My six year old got this out of the box. No need for scissors, teeth, or knives.
LeapFrog wants to see how YOUR child likes to rock out. Visit the LeapFrog TouchMagic website and upload a video of your child playing the guitar- any guitar, even one you make yourself! Share your video and you could win $500. Check the site for helpful tips and criteria for videos.
And, if you enter your child, let me know! Leave me a comment here or on the Milehimama Facebook page, or send me a tweet because I’d love to see your kids making music!
Do you ever buy noise making, robin rockin’, singing and dancing toys for your kids or only for other people‘s kids?
Blogging with Integrity: I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and was given free product by LeapFrog. The content and opinions expressed here are all my own. As are the children. And the open pantry door and messy kitchen. You just scrolled up to look, didn’t you. Never mind, I shouldn’t have mentioned it. At least that stack of dishes is in the CLEAN side of the sink!

I love comments. Tell me what you think!
