It’s been a busy month and a very… um… busy week. Yes, there are still 16 kids age 12 and under living in my house.
All day long, because we’re both homeschoolers.
Let’s look on the bright side!
On the bright side, the school got new monkey bars. And the X-rays showed nothing was fractured, it was just a dislocation.
On the bright side, my creative genius children and their conspirators friends made their own frugal fun by digging a swimming pool in the dirt pile where I was going to plant a garden.
On the bright side, no one drowned in the two feet of soapy water before my husband had the chance to remove the 4,000 hair ties and wad of TP from the drain.
On the bright side, the smoke detectors work. Very well.
On the bright side, I didn’t have to scrape a stinger out of Miss C’s face because it wasn’t a bee that got her, just some other yellow and black flying thing making a nest in our yard.
On the bright side, WalMart sells wasp and hornet killer in a two-pack.
On the bright side, Miss E didn’t break her arm either. Just a severe sprain.
On the bright side, the repairman said we could use the microwave while we wait for new parts. As long as it doesn’t start causing the lights to flicker. Or isn’t making that horrible Transformers chewing noise.
On the bright side, the kids are really talented at capturing reptiles! And of course, everything’s bigger in Texas. Who knew an 8 year old could carry 30 pounds home from the creek?
On the bright side, I’ve had no problem catching a shower this week. Even if I was fully clothed during two of them.
How was your week?

My gracious. You have had A.WEEK.
Buzzy things make Kristin flee.
Better and calmer than yours =D You are one tough lady; I would be curled up in the closet nursing a margarita instead of blogging if I were in your shoes LOL
I am trying to decide what they hauled home that weighed thirty pounds… knowing that you live in my general vicinity I am guessing an alligator?
@ Lisa,
NO ALLIGATORS! I would seriously lose my mind over that. It was a giant turtle!
30 pounds of lizard?? That is both awesome and stupefying. A giant turtle?
Red eared slider. It was huge!
Funniest.post.ever.
Wow. Just wow. Are you sure that you don’t have my boys there with you? That sounds just like their everyday shenanigans.
I think the turtle sounds cool… but around here we have snappers, so I hope my boy won’t be foolhardy enough to go after a big one.
On the bright side… the cat hasn’t peed on any clean laundry.
Dandelions are edible.
My son’s milk allergy is just really uncomfortable for him, not dangerous.
I still have almost 48 hours before the birthday party.
I have more plates still.
None of boy’s injuries have required medical attention.
If my daughter has to decide on just one food to eat for a week or more, she could do worse than peanut butter sandwiches.
Ah yes the Transformers chewing noise. I could never pinpoint exactly what to call that sound but you nailed it. Made me lol.
LOL Love it! keep that positive outlook!
Lol..this was very entertaining! I’m sorry for laughing at your expense, but I just couldn’t help it! I do LOVE the red-eared sliders…we saw a bunch at Mercer yesterday. Thirty pounds must have been a huge one!
I just needed to read something that would make me smile. And that did. Yes, you have many bright sides. Thanks for sharing.
