I am so fed up with Comcast. We have digital phone with them and I have one word to describe my experience: unreliable. When it works, it’s great. For $30 a month we get all the features, voice mail, and unlimited long distance.
When it works. About every 2 months or so I have a major problem. It’s very frustrating. At one point the customer service rep told me I needed to get a cell phone, because when the modem goes out my phone and internet are both kaputz.
Um, no. I’m not going to get a cell phone to back up my home phone so I can call customer service every 8 weeks or so.
So, I’m in the market for a cell phone. Husband has Cricket, and we love it, so we’ll probably stay with that. I’m going to get a land line, just $13 from AT&T, for 911 and when the kids are home but mom and dad are not.
What should I look for? I have no idea. I’m not planning to get the fanciest phone, but as long as I’m buying a cell phone, I’d like to get one I’ll be happy with for a while. My plan will allow internet access. I forsee using it for Twitter and Google Maps, maybe to look up local stores. Husband’s phone is sooo slow at accessing the internet, and I’d like to avoid that.
And this 3G and mobile web and all of the letters and acronyms make my head spin.
Help me, Internetz!

Casio makes the phone of my dreams. Its waterproof, and has rubber bumpers on it. Its about 300 dollars at verizon, but they give you a deal if you get a new plan…and verizon really sucks. My husband has a prepaid that has a free internet app and gives us free minutes everytime we shop at kroger- plus buying the mitnutes counts toward our gas point.(Every $100 dollars we spend at kroger knocks off 10 cents a gallon at their pump)
