Some clams have green edges as part of their natural coloring. Is that what you mean, or were they green, like moldy rotten? I've noticed it varied based on brands. When we lived in South Carolina, my husband, FIL, and boys brought fresh clams home but now I'm back to canned.

I basically just make a white sauce, add clam juice from the can and garlic, then stir the clams in at the end.

Mama-

I noticed you are making clam spaghetti. I saw Rachel Ray make it one time and I tried to make it-but got so grossed out because the clams had green stuff in them. Do your canned clams have green stuff in them and if they do, does or does it not gross you out? And what is it?

Oh heavens. Hope this doesn't turn anyone off clams.☺

By the way-you do a great job feeding your family on a budget.
